Bangalore Traffic: A Challenge or a Revenue Stream?

Bangalore's traffic is infamous—ranked among the worst in India. But here’s the irony: despite the daily gridlocks, our drivers are getting fined for over speeding! 😲

At Indian Drivers (ID Car Drivers Pvt Ltd), one of the organizations whom I'm associated with, we provide professional car drivers on both a permanent salary basis and on-demand hourly services. Recently, one of our corporate clients flagged a concerning issue—several of our deployed drivers had accumulated hefty traffic fines. In some cases, the fines amounted to 50% of their monthly salary! For others, it ranged between 10% to 25% of their earnings.

This raises critical questions:
👉 Are traffic fines genuinely about improving road safety, or just an easy revenue model?
👉 Why are Bangalore roads still chaotic despite increasing penalties?
👉 Shouldn’t we focus more on driver education, better road planning, and effective enforcement rather than just imposing fines?

At Indian Drivers (ID Car Drivers Pvt Ltd), we don’t just provide drivers—we strive to improve driving standards. Every week, we conduct free training and awareness sessions for our new driving partners. We also retrain existing drivers reported for infractions, because we believe safe roads start with responsible drivers.

What do you think? Are fines really making Bangalore’s traffic better? Or is there a deeper issue at play? Share your thoughts! 👇
